A Day of Fellowship, Fine Shooting, & Giving

Honoring the Life and Legacy of E.R. Evans.

January 17 · Tall Cotton Hunting Preserve · Murfreesboro, NC

About the Event

Each January, hunters, friends, and family gather at Tall Cotton Hunting Preserve for a day that feels more like a reunion than a competition. The E.R. Evans Memorial Tower Shoot celebrates the life of a man who embodied generosity, fellowship, and a love for the outdoors.
This isn’t just a day in the field — it’s a tradition built on friendship, fine shooting, and purpose. From the morning’s first coffee to the last bird in the air, participants rotate through stations around the tower, sharing stories and laughter between volleys.
All proceeds from the event support Shriners Hospitals for Children, carrying forward E.R.’s lifelong mission of helping others. It’s a day to enjoy the hunt — and a cause that gives back.

Who is E.R Evans?

To know E.R. Evans was to know hospitality, humility, and heart. Whether he was tending crops at Tall Cotton, trading stories at the tailgate, or watching a pair of bird dogs work a hedgerow, he brought people together in the best of ways.

His love for the outdoors — and for the people who shared it — lives on through this event.
